Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana (PFAG) will join other partners in implementing “The Ghana Strategic Partnership for Evidence Based Advocacy”, a five-year project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS) and managed by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. It aims at strengthening capacities of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to advocate for a conducive enabling environment in WASH, Renewable Energy, Food and Nutrition Security.
Dubbed the “Voice of Change” and with the objective of building vibrant CSOs for advocacy, PFAG will benefit from series of capacity building in the Food and Nutrition Security thematic area particularly on Post Harvest Management and Nutrition Security. The Association will then use the acquired knowledge and its advocacy and mobilization skills to call for improvements in this sector, and disseminating this evidence for change using appropriate advocacy strategies. Increased engagement with government is expected to increase the government’s attention and commitment to develop and implement more inclusive and appropriate policies and programmes to address Post Harvest Losses and food safety issues.
This was made known at the Official launching of the Voice for Change Partnership Programme at the Mensvic Hotel in Accra. PFAG was represented by the Programme Coordinator, Programme Officer and some farmers who are members of the Association.
